- When you check-in for your submarine tour, please confirm the date that you would like to attend the luau.
Every passenger has a window seat on this journey below the sea. Our captain will make the 130-foot descent to an area once only reserved for deep sea scuba divers. This 45-minute underwater adventure safely brings you face to face with a rainbow of tropical marine life, including fierce predators like barracudas and snappers.
Receive a guided tour from our team of experienced pilots and underwater tour guides. This journey into our coastal waters allows you to discover a vast variety of colorful tropical marine life from fish to sea turtles and maybe even a shark or two!
Later that evening (or later that week): Our 3.5-hour Royal Luau is located oceanside, along Kaanapali Beach! You may book your luau within 7 days of the submarine adventure, so if you don't want to go on the same night, that's okay!
As the sun sets along beautiful Kaanapali Beach, our luau presents an authentic ceremony, including a traditional shell lei greeting and an open-bar (drinks included), featuring standard cocktails, beer, wine, soda and punch. Dine on an all-you-can-eat buffet and watch Hawaiian hula dancers and other Polynesian performers!
Following your luau feast, sit back and relax as the Royal Lahaina's dynamic cast of dancers, singers, drummers and musicians presents a spellbinding journey through the South Pacific islands of Hawaii, Tahiti and Samoa. The evening culminates with the exciting Samoan "fire knife" dance.
TOUR RESTRICTIONS: Children must be 36 inches or taller to ride the submarine. Passengers must be physically capable of ascending and descending a near vertical ladder in order to ride the sub.
Daily dives begin at 9:00am to 2:00pm and depart hourly from the Lahaina Harbor, Slip #18. Check in is at our tour kiosk located in the Harbor. A 10-minute cruise on our shuttle vessel will take you to and from the dive site with panoramic views of all the islands. At the dive site you will board the 48-passenger submarine vessel which will take you down 130-ft, to the majestic natural coral reefs and Hawaiian marine life. Our dives provide additional digital narration in Japanese.

Kids loved it. But for adults who can snorkel or dive - that is a better way to see underwater sights. Service and staff were friendly, professional and seemed to enjoy what they were doing.

If you got stuck in the back of the sub, by the time whatever was being shown and talked about in the front of the sub, came within your view it was gone. Not a bad trip but was disappointed that my wife and myself did not get to see the things that were being talked about up front.

The Atlantis Submarine was wonderful. All the crew were very knowledgeable - especially our narrator/marine specialist. The Luau was disappointing. When we arrived at the Luau we were told they had decided to go ahead with the show. Up until 3 pm they were considering canceling because of the weather. How would they have let us know? The show was terrific but the food was absolutely terrible. There was nothing "Hawaiian" about it. There was 1 salad, fried rice, sweet potatoes, 1 fish dish, chicken, pork, turkey and beef. Way too much meat and badly cooked. We all woke up in the night absolutely dying of thirst - so obviously cooked with way too much salt. There was no taste to the food. There was only 2 choices for dessert - a coconut pudding and/or coconut cake. For the price we paid they could have at least given the ladies and flower lei instead of having them at the door for sale. We will not be recommending this luau to our friends.
