Description
Let us pick you up bright and early at your Maui hotel for the adventure of a lifetime - a guided tour of Haleakala National Park and a bike ride down the slopes of Mt. Haleakala. When you arrive at the summit, we'll escort you to the rim of the crater to view a spectacular sunrise.
Enjoy a continental breakfast of hot coffee, juice & pastries as you receive a comprehensive safety briefing. Then, take an informative tour of Haleakala National Park to learn about the geology, rare plants and animals only found on Maui.
Leave the park behind for your downhill bike ride. Start at the 6,800-foot level of Haleakala, where you'll be expertly fitted to your volcano chrome cruiser bike. Then, begin your 28-mile bike ride down the slopes of Haleakala.
Cruise through Haleakala Ranch, the upcountry communities of Kula and Pukalani, stopping in the town of Makawao for a sit-down breakfast stop (meal not included). After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour of this unique historic town.
Ride through sugar cane and pineapple fields, continuing down to the Pacific Ocean and ending at Paia Beach Park. After this amazing adventure, we will return you to your hotel.

While it was chilly at the top, the sun rise was clear and beautiful. We enjoyed the bike ride very much during the extreme downhill sections. However, once we were getting into the towns at the bottom, we would have enjoyed getting to take another run down the steeps instead of having to peddle through the towns and the heat.
The guides were fantastic. My brakes let go fortunately at the bottom of the hill when we were on the flats in town, so that could have been a little worse than it was if it happened earlier.
Definitely would recommend this to anyone going to Maui.

Incredible! Awesome! A 38.2 mile downhill bike ride with unbelievable scenery. An awesome group leader and driver made this probably the best tour during my stay in Maui. A definite must do!

Guides were great - informative, clearly safety conscious, yet funny. (That's helpful so early in the morning.) Only thing that kept this from a "5" rating was there was no sunrise - rainy / windy at the top and much of the way down. Still, would do it again. Loved the coffee / danish in the van and than the breakfast stop 1/2 way down.
